BBVA Compass Opens Fourth Mortgage Center

Opening up new industry jobs in Tempe, Arizona, ""BBVA Compass"":www.bbvacompass.com/ recently announced that it would launch a mortgage operations center in the Southwestern city.

The branch will be BBVA Compass' fourth mortgage-focused complex, and the company noted its growth in the sector as the chief catalyst behind the development of a new location in Tempe. BBVA Compass' mortgage operations center will employ around 100 professionals, and the Alabama-based

company hopes to provide better service to its customers in the Pacific time zone through the branch. Currently, BBVA Compass has three other similar mortgage centers, including locations in Birmingham, Alabama, as well as in McAllen and Laredo, Texas.

Commenting on the company's move into Tempe, BBVA Compass' consumer segment director, Jon Mulkin, said, ""Tempe is a natural fit for our new mortgage operations center. We currently have space in the city with existing infrastructure that we will be able to leverage. In addition, Tempe has a large labor pool of mortgage professionals which is useful for recruiting.""

Through its four mortgage operations centers, BBVA Compass will employ more than 400 people, targeting support for the bank's mortgage lending and processing divisions. BBVA Compass also has over 712 branches throughout the country, and the company ranks among the top 20 largest U.S. commercial banks, in terms of deposit market share.
