Alliant National Title Insurance Company, a title insurance underwriter that partners with Independent Agents to improve their competitive position in the marketplace, announces the promotion of Margaret Cook to deputy general counsel and SVP.

Cook recently marked her second decade in the title insurance industry. The promotion comes as Cook prepares to mark 20 years in the title insurance industry.

Prior to joining Alliant National, Cook’s talents were utilized by other title insurance companies, where she served as chief claims counsel and regional counsel. Before starting her title insurance career by joining a regional title insurance underwriter in 1996, Cook practiced law in a private practice.

Cook has to her name a long list of public speaking engagements. She has been a featured speaker at seminars held by the American Land Title Association, the Land Title Association of Colorado, the Idaho Land Title Association, the Colorado Certified Closers Association, the National Business Institute, and for several local Realtor associations.

Cook’s vast knowledge of and strong reputation in the industry will be a great benefit in her new role as deputy general counsel and SVP of Alliant National, as Cook works with senior executive leadership to manage key legal issues and build relationships.

Her most recent accomplishments include being the Immediate Past President of the Land Title Association of Colorado, with additional service on the Association’s Legislative Affairs Committee and Education Committee. She is also Past-Chair of Colorado’s Title Advisory Council.

“It has been my privilege to work with the highly capable and talented staff of our Independent Agents and Alliant National,” Cook said, “and I look forward to continuing to partner in our agents’ success.”
