Week Ahead: Credit Analysis on the Horizon

Econoday [1] will release their report on Consumer Credit [2] for January 2017 on Tuesday. The prior month-over-month drop in consumer credit was $11 billion.

In last month's report [3] for December, Econoday’s research showed slowing consumer credit, compared to $25.2 billion in November. Nonrevolving credit, which reflects auto loans and student loans rose $11.8 billion.

The following chart from Econoday shows the monthly debt to income ratio, as more consumers use credit to spend outside their means.
