The Week Ahead: 2019 Housing Market Outlook

On Tuesday at 10 a.m. PST, Carrington will present a webinar titled 2019 Housing Market Outlook: Danger Ahead? where Rick Sharga, EVP, Carrington will discuss what happened to the U.S. Housing Market in 2018, and what’s likely to happen in 2019.

The webinar will give insights on what happened in a year that started out with great promise but ended with home sales figures falling below its 2017 numbers despite a strong economy, and how this trend can create a drag on the economy. It will also dwell upon the question of the inventory shortage and if rising prices and mortgages have made housing unaffordable for potential homebuyers.

During the webinar, Sharga will discuss if we are seeing the beginning of a fundamental market shift with the next wave of potential homeowners opting to rent more often than prior generations and if all these factors together suggest another downturn for the housing market or a necessary correction.

Here’s what else is in store in the week ahead:

  • Black Knight Mortgage Monitor, Monday 9 a.m. EST
  • CoreLogic Loan Insights Report, Tuesday, 9 a.m. EST
  • MBA Mortgage Apps, Wednesday, 7 a.m. EST
