Five Star to Honor Achievements of Women in Housing

The September Women in Housing issue of MReport magazine will pay tribute to the women who are having the greatest influence on the mortgage industry and feature the stories of women who overcame the odds to emerge as industry leaders.

This Women in Housing Issue will feature MReport’s “50 Women of Impact,” which features an in-depth look at the female trailblazers defining housing and the mortgage industry. The 50 Women of Impact will be featured in three categories: Power Players, which is an exclusive list of five executive-level professionals or government representatives who have broken the glass ceiling and made it to the top; Leading Ladies, which profiles 35 top executives from all segments of housing and mortgage who have exhibited leadership, drive, and dedication to bettering the industry; and Notable Names, which is dedicated to the industry’s rising professionals (nominees must be under age 35 at time of publication in September 2016).

MReport’s annual Women in Housing issue coincides with Five Star’s Fourth Annual Women in Housing Leadership Forum [1], which will be the concluding event of the Five Star Conference and Expo in Dallas, Texas, on September 13.

“The Women in Housing issue is one of our showcase issues for MReport annually,” said Ed Delgado, President and CEO of the Five Star Institute [2]. “In conjunction with the Leadership Forum, we want to recognize the achievements of those women whose strength, character, and leadership have helped to shape the mortgage industry through the years.”

The honorees in last year’s Power Player category for the Women in Housing issue were Christina Boyle, SVP and Head of Single-Family Sales and Relationship Management, Freddie Mac; Mary Frances Burleson, President and CEO of Ebby Halliday Real Estate, Inc.; Kathryn Madison, CEO, HSBC Finance Corporation; Laurie Maggiano, Program Manager for Servicing and Secondary Markets, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; Kathleen Malone, SVP of Business Architecture for Customer Excellence, Wells Fargo Home Lending; and Rep. Maxine Waters, serving the 43rd Congressional District of California. To see the full issue, click here [3].

Five Star’s Women in Housing Leadership Forum recognizes the strength and leadership of women across housing and mortgage servicing and provides a platform for advancement through open dialogue and inspiring keynotes. Past keynote speakers at the Five Star Conference have included former First Lady Laura Bush, former Secretory of State Condoleezza Rice, and former FDIC Chair Sheila Bair.
