Gerald Buckley Joins Gateway Mortgage as Digital Marketing Executive

Oklahoma-based Gateway Mortgage Group, LLC, a full-service mortgage company licensed in 40 states and the District of Columbia, announced Gerald Buckley as its new Digital Marketing Executive. In this role, Buckley will be responsible for driving implementation, operationalization and ongoing delivery of Gateway’s digital channel strategy.

Gateway’s new digital strategy, set by the executive leadership team, has been designed to provide a fully integrated customer experience. The strategy will ensure consistency across all key digital activities, spanning content management, marketing, messaging, optimization, data and client acquisition, all while lowering the cost of digital client acquisition and providing robust tracking and reporting.

“Gerald has a great reputation as an insightful leader in digital marketing. He will push the envelope and drive change—but in a collaborative way that respects the existing Gateway culture,” said Stephen Curry, CEO of Gateway. “He will be a strong asset to Gateway as we continue to grow and expand our businesses, and we look forward to benefiting from his contributions.”

Most recently, Buckley served in marketing and logistics capacities for The Pioneer Woman Mercantile where he helped launch various properties. Before that, he served as the marketing strategist for ConsumerAffairs. Buckley worked with a wide variety of companies, from leading a multi-million, Fortune 500, business-to-consumer digital marketing program at Thrifty Car Rental to managing a high-growth, underfunded startup called Grocio. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in advertising and later received his Executive MBA from the University of Tulsa.

“I am excited to work with the digital marketing team to strengthen Gateway’s marketing initiatives and improve the customer experience,” Buckley said. “We are at a time of growth and exciting change, and I look forward to what the future holds as we evolve together.”

Gateway Mortgage Group recently received approval from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to merge with Farmers Exchange Bank (Cherokee, Oklahoma). This merger has led to the creation of Gateway First Bank, a new financial institution that will provide a broader suite of consumer and commercial banking services delivered through traditional and digital channels, including mortgages originated through local loan production offices nationwide, and full-service banking solutions at bank branches throughout Oklahoma.
