Gerald Canon, who has spent a quarter of a century in the mortgage business, has been named President of eCU Mortgage [1], the CUSO mortgage company that serves credit unions throughout Texas.
As President, Canon will provide overall leadership as the company expands in its mission of helping credit unions provide streamlined, personalized mortgage services to their loan-seeking members.
“Gerald Canon has the perfect blend of underwriting, loan servicing, regulatory, sales, and management experience to lead eCU Mortgage,” said Mike McWethy, EVP of First Service Credit Union, the parent of eCU Mortgage.
“He is widely known in the industry for his leadership skills and most importantly, he fully understands the needs of credit unions.”
Canon most recently was district manager at Mortgage Center, where he worked with credit union partners in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Ohio. Previously he was a VP at Marine Credit Union in Wisconsin and before that was vice president of lending at Oregon Bank, also in Wisconsin. He has also served in executive positions for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago and First Capitol Mortgage Corp.
