New Hire for Avison Young’s Los Angeles Division

""Avison Young"":www.avisonyoung.com/ is bolstering the leadership for its West Coast brokerage operations with the announcement that Martin McDermott will join the company's West Los Angeles office. McDermott, a commercial real estate broker, will focus on office and retail property transactions in his new role for Avison Young.

Prior to joining Avison Young, McDermott was the vice president of transaction services for ""Grubb & Ellis Company"":www.grubb-ellis.com/, and he has served clients across diverse industries including entertainment, architecture, and digital media. McDermott was ranked as the number one sales professional for Grubb & Ellis' West Los Angeles territory in 2009.

Other career highlights for McDermott include his performance as an advisor to institutions such as the United States Postal Service and many regional banks. Additionally, McDermott has previously been the co-founder of two different internet-based startup companies.

In his position with Avison Young, McDermott will be responsible for assisting the company as it expands into Los Angeles and Southern California. The company's West Los Angeles office was just opened in August of 2011, when the Avison Young acquired ""Ramsey-Shilling Commercial Real Estate Services, Inc."":ramseyshilling.com/; the company has announced that it anticipates opening numerous offices throughout the region as it strives to cover the entire market.
