Avison Young Appoints Two New Principals

The commercial real estate services firm has hired data center experts Jim Kerrigan and David Horowitz to bolster its brokerage activities in Chicago.

Both Kerrigan and Horowitz will become principals for Avison Young, effective immediately, and they will collectively be responsible for leading the company's data specialty efforts throughout the U.S. and Canada. Kerrigan and Horowitz will focus on assisting clients in both countries to facilitate their data center and space needs.

Kerrigan joins Avison Young with more than two decades of experience in the mortgage and real estate industries. Most recently, Kerrigan was with ""Grubb & Ellis"":www.grubb-ellis.com/, where he and Horowitz helmed the formation of the company's Data Center group.

Additionally, Kerrigan and Horowitz spent eight years together with ""Staubach Company"":www.staubach.com/. Kerrigan has previously specialized in representing technology-oriented companies, helping developers, financial institutions, hosting, colocation, and telecommunication companies tackle their data challenges. Horowitz is well known for his data center transactions including site-selection colocation and wholesale data centers, lease and license negotiations, acquisitions and dispositions, power and fiber analysis, strategic planning, financial analysis, and real estate tax analysis.
