Realtor.com Reports 20 Hottest Markets in the U.S.

A sneak peak of Realtor.com’s [1] national housing data for the first three weeks of February shows the current hottest markets in the U.S. The full February report will be released later this month. [2]

Realtor.com’s report shows a clear change in market trend for the month of February and points to an increase in listings going forward.

“The price appreciation we’ve witnessed over recent months seems to be working to encourage more sellers to put their homes on the market,” said Jonathan Smoke, Realtor.com chief economist. “A higher level of inventory along with growing demand should result in more contracts for both existing and new homes in February, leading to more closings in March.”

Smoke was able to determine the 20 hottest markets in the country by looking at the number of listing views relative to the number of listings on the website. By looking at the February data and website traffic as the home buying season approaches, he was able to rank these hottest markets:
