Nationwide Title Clearing Covers Lien Release in New White Paper

""Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc."":http://www.nwtc.com/, a Florida-based post-closing services provider for the residential mortgage industry, released a new white paper outlining the ten hottest issues servicers must consider when undertaking the lien release.

The white paper, titled ""Best Practices for Managing a Lien Release Partner,"" runs down the list of critical issues servicers face today. At the top, of course, is ""compliance.""

""In the lien release business, there is only one metric that really matters: Out of Compliance (OOC) Percentage,"" said John Hillman, CEO of Nationwide Title Clearing. ""Specifically, this is the number of lien releases not filled in a timely, accurate and compliant manner. Servicers should demand metrics and reports that provide true transparency from their partners and insist they focus on accuracy and compliance above all else.""

Also critical: clearly outlined policies and procedures, audited internal policies, and proficiency in conducting chain of title research.

""Of the many tasks the modern mortgage loan servicer must complete in the course of the workday, perhaps lien release management offers the fewest tangible rewards for the effort,"" the white paper reads. ""Unfortunately, lien release management is among the tasks that do not contribute directly to bottom line success but, if improperly handled, can lead to significant costs.""

The paper is available on the company's ""website"":http://info.nwtc.com/expert-lien-release-services?utm_campaign=Blog&utm_source=Blog-Lien-Release-WP-2013.
