U.S. Treasurer Rosie Rios also announced and discussed the new website in Spanish on Monday.

The newly redesigned and optimized Spanish-language site includes new resources for struggling homeowners with interactive tools including program information that is organized based on a homeowner's individual situation to provide a ""path"" to their next steps.

These include possible solutions for their particular mortgage concerns; clear and prominent information about how to contact a HUD-approved housing counselor for free help ├â┬ó├óÔÇÜ┬¼├óÔé¼┼ô as well as information about how to avoid scams; and additional free resources for homeowners and trusted advisors to get assistance and gain knowledge about various programs available to help with mortgage concerns.

Earlier this year, the Obama administration extended the deadline for the program to December 31, 2013, and expanded the pool of eligible homeowners.
