Mortgage Veteran Wade Hamby Honored with Brown L. Whatley Award

Hamby is the StoneHill Group's business development manager. Beyond his work for the firm, he has served as president of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and helped develop Florida's state association.

He was honored at the association's 2013 Annual Convention with the Brown L. Whatley Award, a prestigious award created in 1955 to recognize the most outstanding member of the year. According to a release from the StoneHill Group, Hamby was chosen as the 2012-13 recipient for his continued commitment to the association (including his service on committees) and for providing wisdom through ""difficult challenges.""

The award ceremony wasn't the first time Hamby has been honored for his service--he also has a municipal park named after him in Jacksonville.
