DelliBovi has served as the president and CEO of the ""Federal Home Loan Bank of New York"":www.fhlbny.com/ since 1992, and in his current role, he is responsible for the financial institution's $100 billion wholesale bank. Through his leadership of the wholesale division, DelliBovi facilitates funding for housing and economic advancement via 330 neighborhood-based lenders in New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Prior to his position with the FHLBNY, DelliBovi acted as the deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Commenting on DelliBovi's addition to the commission, FHLBNY's chairman, Michael Horn, said, ""I am honored to join with so many leading housing experts and national leaders to work on developing policies that will reinvigorate, support and strengthen our nation's housing industry. Housing is not only the cornerstone of our nation's economy, but vital to the stability of our communities and families, as well.├âÔÇÜ├é┬á We must create sensible and responsible policies that revitalize our country's housing sector.""

During 2012, the Bipartisan Policy Center's Housing Commission hopes to put together a package of ""realistic and actionable"" recommendations on policies that address the country's recovering housing sector. Specifically, the commission noted in a recent statement that it will ""assess the appropriate role of the federal government in housing by reviewing the effectiveness of the full range of support the federal government currently provides to the housing sector.├âÔÇÜ├é┬á""

Other members of the commission include Henry Cisneros and former U.S. Senator Mel Martinez, both of whom have previously acted as U.S. Secretaries of Housing and Urban Development; Senator Kit Bond; and George Mitchell, who co-founded the Bipartisan Policy Center. Along with DellBovi, the commission announced 16 additional appointees during December.

Launched in October, the Bipartisan Policy Center was initiated by former Senate majority leaders Howard Baker, Tom Daschle, Bob Dole, and George Mitchell. The non-profit organization targets projects in multiple arenas, combining ""politically-balanced policymaking with strong, proactive advocacy and outreach.""
