The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) announced the appointment of Kathy Murphy as the agency's senior deputy comptroller for management and CFO.
Murphy previously served as acting senior deputy comptroller for management and CFO, roles she took over in June. Before that, she served since 2009 as deputy comptroller and chief accountant.
Murphy's other past roles at OCC include positions as a member of the National Risk Committee and co-chair of the agency's Capital and Accounting Steering Committee. She started at the agency in 2002 after serving in public accounting with two large national accounting firms.
As senior deputy comptroller and CFO, Murphy oversees OCC's financial management, human resources, continuing education, information technology, security, workplace services, and performance improvement.
"At the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, we are fortunate to have a strong team of executives," said Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry. "Kathy adds to this team with deep expertise in accounting and financial matters. She displays selfless dedication to our mission of ensuring the safety and soundness of our federal banking system and unwavering support for the men and women of this agency."
