Lending.com Hires New General Counsel

Liz VerrierLending.com, a lending-as-a-service platform recently appointed Liz Verrier as General Counsel. According to the company, in her new role as Lending.com's Chief Legal Officer, she will provide legal guidance to their board of directors and upper-level management.

In addition, Verrier will also oversee all legal and compliance matters for the company and will be a member of the firm's Executive Committee.

Lending.com and its partners will benefit from the depth of her legal expertise and impressive knowledge of the regulatory environment. She is joining us at an exciting time as we build Lending.com and expand our lending platform beyond real estate.”

Verrier was VP & Senior Counsel at American Express before joining Lending.com. Here, she focused on the emerging payments and technologies business unit and was a recipient of the 2015 American Express Chairman’s Award for Innovation. Before her tenure at American Express, she worked as Compliance Counsel and Chairperson of the Compliance Committee at Revolution Money, where she was responsible for their consumer credit portfolio and peer-to-peer payment platform.

She has also worked with Union State Bank as Assistant General Counsel and as assistant corporation counsel for the New York City Law Department.

“Liz is an innovative attorney with extensive knowledge and practical experience in consumer payments and lending, regulatory compliance, Bank Secrecy Act & Anti-Money Laundering matters, privacy, marketing, general corporate matters, and real estate law,” Hogg said. “Liz has a proven ability to negotiate and independently manage complex transactions and has advised organizations at all stages of growth. We’re excited to add her expertise to the Lending.com team.”
