Zillow Appoints VP for Industry Development

On the same day that Move, Inc., filed suit over the hiring of former executive Errol Samuelson, Zillow announced the addition of Curt Beardsley, another former Move alum.

Formerly EVP of industry development for Move, Beardsley now serves in a similar position at Zillow, working to build and strengthen the company’s relationships with multiple listing services (MLS) and other industry partners at VP of industry development.

“Curt has extensive experience in the real estate sector with a great combination of skills and leadership and we’re excited to welcome him to Zillow,” said CEO Spencer Rascoff. “We’re committed to building valuable products and services for our industry partners and Curt’s deep background with real estate technology and building partnerships is another great addition to our growing team.”

A 20-year veteran of the industry, Beardsley arrived on the Web MLS scene with his founding of True North Technology, where he developed and deployed the first major Internet-based MLS system in the United States. Previously, he worked with Windermere Real Estate Company and others to develop one of the first public real estate websites to offer complete inventory of MLS listings to consumers.

In addition, he also served as the director of product development for the Enterprise Solutions division of GTE and Whoscalling.com, where he developed systems targeting the real estate, healthcare, education, and automotive channels.

On his new position, Beardsley commented, “I’m excited to join Zillow because of their commitment to build great products and services that benefit the real estate industry and consumers. I look forward to listening to MLSs and other Zillow partners to evolve our industry programs and technology to ensure Zillow is the best partner we can be.”
