CRS Launches Desktop Evaluation Service for Lenders

Collateral Risk Solutions (CRS), a specialist in value assurance since 2001, announced the launch of its new Desktop Evaluation service as a response to demand for a reliable and economic alternative to field appraisals.

According to the company, Desktop Evaluation is prepared by a geographically knowledgeable appraiser who assesses information from a variety of data sources, including an exterior third-party inspection report, satellite imagery, listing service data, public records, and various mapping programs. The resulting report is then provided in a “succinct, easy to read format” with relevant data prominently displayed.

Joel Meredith, CEO at CRS, says the service was designed to provide the valuation community a compliant appraisal option for home equity lines of credit, loss mitigation, and quality control that meets all interagency evaluation and appraisal guidelines.

“The CRS Desktop Evaluation is a reliable valuation alternative that fills the gap between a BPO and a full interior inspection appraisal,” Meredith explained.
