Auction.com and Five Star Institute Pledge Support to Operation Homefront and Veteran Home Donation Program

The home donation program will be featured at the 2015 Five Star Conference and Expo, which will take place September 16 to 18 in Dallas, Texas. Five Star has partnered with various non-profit organizations over the last four years to provide approximately $4 million worth of homes to service members. At last year's conference, Five Star presented six wounded veterans with mortgage-free homes.

Forecast Calls for Small Bump in January Existing-Home Sales

Home Investors Lean Toward Renting Over Flipping

Out of all the investors surveyed by Auction.com in November, 50.5 percent said they're going to rent out their properties, while 46.6 percent plan to flip them to another buyer. The preference toward renting was more evident among one-time purchasers, 72.2 percent of whom said they plan to rent out the auctioned home.

The latest Nowcast report, powered by Google data and released Monday by Auction.com, projects existing-home sales for November will fall between seasonally adjusted annual rates of 5.05 million and 5.46 million units, with a targeted number of 5.25 million sales.
