Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and Common Securitization Solutions, LLC (CSS) jointly announced on Wednesday the development of an Industry Advisory Group. The group will provide feedback and share information on efforts to build the Common Securitization Platform (CSP) and implement the Single Security.

As FHFA Director Mel Watt revealed in his first public speech as the agency's chief, the companies' new direction revolves around three main objectives: maintain, reduce, and build. "Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac made significant progress toward achieving the goals in FHFA's Strategic Plan for the Conservatorships last year and we look forward to building on that progress in 2015," Watt said Wednesday.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac jointly announced that David M. Applegate will be the first CEO of Common Securitization Solutions (CSS), which was created by the GSEs to operate a new secondary mortgage market infrastructure, Common Securitization Platform (CSP).
