Home Price Increases Spread in September, Sales Weaken

DataQuick, a specialist in property information and decisioning solutions, reported price growth "resumed at a rapid rate in September and spread to all" of its 42 reporting counties on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. In other findings, sales dipped in most measures, with 26 counties reporting monthly increases, 28 reporting quarterly increases, and 29 posting yearly improvement (compared to 29, 37, and 28 in August, respectively).

August Housing Metrics Point to Slowing Recovery

DataQuick's monthly Property Intelligence Report (PIR), which examines home price and sales metrics as well as foreclosure data across 42 counties, is the latest in a line of reports pointing to mounting evidence that the housing recovery is losing some of its energy. According to the company's data, home prices in August grew in 40 of the 42 counties on a monthly basis and in all counties on a quarterly and yearly basis. However, though growth was positive, the rate of improvement is on the decline.

Low Property Supply Sends July Prices Soaring

A July monthly property intelligence report (PIR) conducted by Dataquick, a provider of real estate information solutions, reveals a monthly and annual rise in home prices for every single participating U.S. county out of the 42 evaluated. In fact, home prices have hiked an average of over 13 percent versus this time last year. Per DataQuick's data, this rise in price has been directly linked to fewer foreclosures, limited property availability, and an overall decline in transactions.

DataQuick: California Home Sales, Prices Shoot Up in March

An estimated 37,764 new and resale houses and condos sold statewide in California in March--a monthly increase of 31.5 percent, according to information released by San Diego-based DataQuick. March's sales numbers also came in 0.8 percent above March 2012's 37,481, DataQuick reported.
