A new report revealed where home improvement spending is rising faster than incomes, as homeowners in Southern states were found to spend more on home improvements compared to large cities like New York and Philadelphia.

“Real estate experts are predicting a large increase in the number of million-dollar homes across the country. The trend is being driven by an influx of wealthy buyers looking to invest in luxury properties and a steady rise in property values in certain areas,” said Jennifer Spinelli, founder and CEO of Niche Home Buyer.

According to new data, even “luxury” upgrades were found to have a poor ROI with half coming in at 50% or lower.
