A former Treasury secretary is joining Lender Processing Services' (LPS) board of directors, the company announced. John Snow, Ph.D., was appointed to serve on the risk and compliance committee of the Florida-based company's board of directors.

John Snow, Ph.D., was appointed to serve on the risk and compliance committee of the Florida-based company's board of directors.

Snow served as Secretary of the Treasury under President Bush from February 2003 to June 2006 and has work as president of JWS Associates, LLC since then. Prior to his appointment at Treasury, he served as chairman, president and CEO of CSX Corporation, which operates the largest rail network in the eastern United States and provides intermodal transportation, domestic container shipping, and international marine terminal services.

Snow has also served in several senior roles at the U.S. Department of Transportation and chaired the Business Roundtable, a group of CEOs of major U.S. corporations formed to promote pro-business public policy.

He also serves as non-executive chairman of Cerberus Capital Management LP and on the boards of directors of International Consolidated Airlines Group and Marathon Petroleum Corporation.
