Auction.com adds Former LinkedIn, Yahoo! Engineer to Roster

Lawrence Yuan

California-based online real estate marketplace, Auction.com [1], has announced the addition of former LinkedIn and Yahoo! Engineer Lawrence Yuan as senior director of engineering.

In his new position with Auction.com, Yuan will oversee the development of web and mobile products and applications that will enhance the user experience for buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals who access and interact with the Auction.com platform.

"User experience has always been a top priority for Auction.com in our mission to make online real estate transactions as easy, transparent and secure as possible for an audience that is becoming increasingly mobile," Auction.com Chief Technology Officer Ravi Keswani said. "With his proven track record of developing tools and processes that help companies more effectively interact with their customers, we are pleased to welcome Lawrence Yuan as a valuable addition to our team."

A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Yuan has 17 years of experience in the tech industry. Immediately prior to joining Auction.com, Yuan spend four years leading engineering teams at LinkedIn that were responsible for enhancing that site's user experience, including the home page, news feed, and email products.

Yuan is the co-inventor of six patent-pending algorithms and frameworks that have helped customize message delivery times for social media platforms, and he has been a leading developer of products that have helped top tech companies such as LinkedIn, Yahoo!, and IronPort Systems, utilize data to more effectively connect with both mobile and Web users.

"Auction.com is innovating the way in which real estate is bought and sold, incorporating technology to both simplify and enhance the experience of each person involved in every transaction," Yuan said. "It’s exciting that we’re seeing a shift where people are starting to purchase seven figure properties on a mobile device. And, it’s clear that the company has something special to offer."
