MountainView Capital Holdings announced Wednesday that it grabbed Clayton IPS, a pricing service of Clayton Holdings, for an undisclosed amount.

""MountainView Capital Holdings"":http://mvch.com/ announced Wednesday that it grabbed Clayton IPS, a pricing service of Clayton Holdings, for an undisclosed amount.

According to a release, the Denver-based company will take on third-party, fair market pricing practices for hard-to-value securities, including residential mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, and other financial products.

Employees and proprietary information with ""Clayton IPS"":http://www.clayton.com/ joined MountainView Analytics in mid-August.

""The planning of this transaction produced a seamless transition for IPS clients and employees, and the new opportunities for them are tremendous,"" MountainView IPS SVP Scott Gibson, who led the Clayton team, said in a statement.

""My staff is excited about the opportunity to access the market insights of MountainView's analytics, sales and trading, and asset management divisions, and we look forward to bringing this additional expertise to our clients,"" he added.

""Synergy and success are what MountainView seeks in acquisitions,"" Mark Garland, president of MountainView Analytics, said in the statement. ""MountainView is a leader in analytics on the residential MSR asset, and as we looked to expand our third-party valuation services across related asset types, the IPS team was the obvious choice, with eight years of history and more than 60 clients.""

MountainView and Clayton also joined a strategic alliance as part of the deal, with each firm set to offer various services to their respective clients.

According to the release, Clayton's surveillance business will continue operations in Denver.
