Auction.com Names New Board Member

Retired Juniper Networks CEO and former Microsoft executive Kevin Johnson has joined Auction.com's [1] board of directors, the company announced.

"Kevin understands what it takes to be both an industry and a technology leader, something that is key to Auction.com as we harness the power of the Internet to change the way real estate is transacted," said Jeff Frieden, CEO and co-founder of Auction.com.

Johnson has led a long career of leading and growing companies, serving as Juniper's CEO and a member of its board for more than five years until his retirement in January. During his tenure there, the company's revenue grew from $2.8 billion in 2007 to $4.6 billion last year.

Prior to his work at Juniper, Johnson served in a number of executive positions at Microsoft, including group VP of worldwide sales, marketing, and services. He also worked as president of the company's platforms division.

In 2008, he was appointed by President George W. Bush to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, a post he held through 2013.

In addition to his new position on Auction.com's board, Johnson has served as director on the board of Starbucks since 2009 and has held board positions with non-profits focusing on technology and women's career advancement.

"Kevin understands what it takes to be both an industry and a technology leader, something that is key to Auction.com as we harness the power of the Internet to change the way real estate is transacted," said Jeff Frieden, CEO and co-founder of Auction.com.

"Kevin is a tremendously insightful business executive and board member with a proven track record in building highly scalable organizations," said Jake Seid, president of Auction.com. "We are eager to tap into Kevin's experience and insights as we enter the next phase of growth as the nation's leading online real estate marketplace."
