During her time at Wells Fargo, Smith was also responsible for increasing their government-insured loan funding by developing an extensive sales and operations training program.

In a release, GMH said Smith's previous management roles and diverse experience make her ""ideally suited"" for the company's strategic growth plan.

""Penny brings a strong reputation of implementing and executing upon operational efficiencies while ensuring that superior customer service is delivered throughout all phases of the loan process,"" said GMH president Karen Bausman. ""Penny is a welcome asset to our expanding team, and helps us to continue our strategic growth through the year.""

""I am extremely excited to join GMH Mortgage and immediately integrate myself into their service-focused culture,"" Smith said. ""I plan on using my experience in both the sales and operational sides of the mortgage industry to create a dynamic and rewarding experience for our customers, as well as our sales and operations teams.""
