Colorado Attorney General Reaches Settlement with LPS

In Colorado, ""Lender Processing Services, Inc. (LPS)"":http://www.lpsvcs.com/Pages/default.aspx, has reached a settlement with the state's attorney general.

Concluding the investigation into document execution practices by subsidiaries of LPS, the company has agreed to provide

payment and reimbursement fees in exchange for a release of potential liability.

According to the terms of the settlement, LPS will pay $1.3 million, as well an additional $500,000 to cover fees and costs to the Colorado attorney general. In return, the deal provides for a ""release of potential liability of LPS and its subsidiaries related to past document execution practices in Colorado.""

Commenting on the proceedings, Hugh Harris, president and CEO of LPS, stated, ""This settlement is another important step in our continuing efforts to resolve legal and regulatory issues related to past, discontinued document execution practices.

""LPS remains focused on resolving all remaining legal and regulatory challenges as expeditiously as possible, and is committed to ensuring that we continue to operate with integrity and compliance in everything we do,"" Harris concluded.
