RFC Promotes Branch Manager to VP of Sales Residential Finance Corporation (RFC), an award-winning nationwide mortgage lender headquartered in Ohio and with branches around the country, announced the promotion of branch manager Joe Buxton to the position of VP of sales.

California's Stearns Lending, Inc., is welcoming a new executive. The mortgage lender appointed James Hecht as EVP of strategic development. Hecht has more than 20 years' experience in mortgage banking sales and operations, having started as an intern and later a commissioned originator at MGIC.

In Michigan, Flagstar Bancorp, Inc. (FBC), and its subsidiary, Flagstar Bank (FSB) are starting the new year with an executive leadership shakeup. Recent changes included the promotion of Alessandro DiNello to president and chief administrative officer of FSB and Matthew Kerin to president of FSB's mortgage banking unit.

ClosingCorp, a leading provider of residential real estate closing cost data and technologies for mortgage and real estate professionals, announced Mark Nogaki has joined the company as SVP of sales.

Freddie Mac CFO Ross J. Kari is making plans to retire in the second half of 2013, the GSE announced. While Kari has not yet selected an official date to depart from Freddie Mac, he informed the company he intends to retire in the latter half of the year following his 55th birthday.

Carrington Holding Company, LLC, based in Santa Ana, California, announced the hiring of well-known banking industry veteran Christopher Whalen to head the company's investment banking operations. Whalen's title will be EVP and managing director for Carrington Investment Services.

Prudential Mortgage Capital Company announced David Durning will replace the outgoing David Twardock as company president in 2013. Durning is currently senior managing director and head of originations for the firm. He joined Prudential in 1988 as an investment analyst and has stayed with the company ever since.

In Houston, Texas, Southwest Securities, Inc., has added a new senior leader for the firm's taxable fixed income unit. Appointing Bob Anderson as an SVP, Southwest Securities hopes to utilize the housing finance industry veteran's extensive experience to enhance its institutional sales operations.

The American Legal and Financial Network (ALFN) is expanding its leadership lineup. Adding a new executive position and naming two new appointees, the national mortgage banking trade group announced Christina Danovsky's promotion to SVP of business development, as well as the hiring of Cade Holleman to the recently-created role of assistant VP of government affairs and communications.

Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) deputy director Stephen Cross will retire from his post in March 2013, according to an announcement from acting director Edward DeMarco. Cross has served as FHFA's deputy director of the Division of Federal Home Loan Bank Regulation since the agency's creation in 2008.
